2023 Lake Winnipeg Indigenous Gathering
The Lake Winnipeg Indigenous Collective is hosting an annual gathering in Winnipeg on March 15th, 2023. We invite you to join us in ceremony to renew our collective responsibility to protect Lake Winnipeg.
Some topics that will be explored on this day include Anishinaabe and Nehiyaw legal systems in relation to water, shoreline erosion, and current projects impacting the health of Lake Winnipeg.
Multi-Level Governance Issues in Freshwater Protection, Management, and Law
This conference will explore the political and community actors who protect and manage freshwater in Canada. Two themes will be discussed: Multilevel governance and water protection, and Regional management and watershed management.
