2024 Nibi Gathering
The Nibi Gathering will be held from May 23 - 26, 2024 in the Whiteshell Provincial Park near Manito Api (Bannock Point).
Through the teachings of Knowledge Keepers, Elders, and artists of all disciplines, who are dedicated to ensuring that Anishinaabe teachings, language, songs, and ceremonies continue for future generations.
General Info:
Registration is recommended but not required. This is for planning purposes only to estimate food costs and seating in the lodge.
All attendees must arrange their own transportation and accommodations. (we are coordinating a bus to transport folks to and from the gathering and the city. If this is of interest to you please sign up here)
Camping (without electrical power) is available on-site, FREE OF CHARGE.
Water will be provided for campers to use, please bring your own buckets/containers to haul the water back to your campsite.
Otherwise, you can book a campsite (with electrical power) at nearby provincial campgrounds, OR there are several resorts and cabins nearby(NOTE: These options are at your own cost) Please visit the Manitoba Parks Reservation website Home (goingtocamp.com. Reservations open Wednesday, April 10, 2024 for the Whiteshell Provincial Park campgrounds: Betula Lake, Big Whiteshell, Brereton Lake, Caddy Lake, Falcon Beach, Falcon Lakeshore, Nutimik Lake, Opapiskaw, Otter Falls, West Hawk Lake, White Lake
For whatever reason you cannot attend, please contact us or cancel your reservation, so that someone else can take your spot.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Your feast bundles (i.e. plates, cups, bowls, cutlery) We will have a wash station available on-site.
- Rubber boots in the event of rain.
- Warm clothing when it cools down.
- Bug spray and sunscreen.
- Camping chairs or blankets for the lodge.
- If you are camping, please bring all the necessities you will need for the 4-day event.
